Summary
Yellow lampas brocade maniple. a) As ATT/TC/216/1; b) yellow silk warps; green, coral red and beige/ gold silk wefts. Design; not complete. Baroque/ Bizarre - See ATT/TC(Gill Medland Cat)/216. a) Silver gilt thread and ivory silk braid 16 mm; b) silver gilt thread and ivory silk braid 30 mm. Mauve and blue cotton braid sewn on reverse for securing to wrist. Pink/brown glazed linen plain weave. Smaller version of ATT/TC/216/1 but all hand sewn; centre section has yellow silk thread in running stitch and made up of b) with fabric a) either end; trim a) as cross at centre. Bordered either end with a) and cross either end of b) trimmings. 18th century. Made in Italy or France.
