Summary
Two Mechlin bobbin lace borders. a) and b) Cream linen thread, mesh ground with gimp thread forming pattern. Design; repeat 25 mm. Flower spray border and powdered ground. a) and b) Straight footing and heading, hemmed one end, cut one end. Made in Flanders circa 1800. The numbers on the labels do not correspond with any listed in the Marshall and Snellgrove catalogue. ....from the Collection of the Empress Eugenie. 27 inches for 27/-.
