Summary
One of eight printed cotton chintz swag tails. Part of a set of fourteen items of window curtain furnishings. Cotton plain weave, roller printed green; blue; pink-red; yellow; drab; black. Loom width 680 mm, glazed finish. Design; Repeat 350 mm Main ground sprigged flowers, one side border of flowers round pole. Grass green cotton, plain weave glazed. Longer length one side (four left side; four right side); hemmed on four sides bordered on shorter side and bottom edge. Tack marks at top edge, lined throughout, hand sewn. Made in Lancashire by an unknown printer and professional upholsterer circa 1860.
