Summary
Printed cotton chintz swag. One of fourteen items of window curtain furnishings. Cotton plain weave, roller printed green; blue; pink-red; yellow; drab; black. Loom width 680 mm, glazed finish. Design; Repeat 350 mm Main ground sprigged flowers, one side border of flowers round pole. Grass green cotton, plain weave glazed. Hand sewn, two widths placed horizontal; border top and bottom; shorter length at top fanning out to curved bottom edge. Lined throughout; tack marks either end where originally gathered. Made in Lancashire by a professional printer and unknown upholsterer circa 1860.
