Summary
white marble, Chimneypiece, Lady Berwick's Sitting Room, Attingham Hall by Bossi (fl.c.1785-1798) ?. White marble chimneypiece with stepped entablature supported on pilaster jambs with plantain leaf capitals and inlaid with roses and festoons in blue, pink and green scagliola. Made in England or Ireland (carved by Bossi?), circa 1785.
Provenance
1st Lord Berwick collection: Noel Hill, 1st Baron Berwick (1745 – 1789). By descent bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
