Full-length portrait of Maria Hill, Lady Broughton-Delves, showing her turning to the right against a balustrade holding an open sketchbook in left hand and paintbrush in right, large urn and drape behind. Printed by Robert Sayer, London, 1770. Maria Hill was the second daughter of Thomas Hill of Tern Hall and sister of Noel Hill, created 1st Baron Berwick in1784. She married firstly Sir Brian Broughton-Delves, 5th Bart., and secondly Mr Errington (uncle to Mrs Fitzherbert).
Provenance
Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
