Summary
Chamber organ in a square panelled mahogany case, inlaid with satinwood, with banded oval centre and square pilaster sides. Filled with false gilt pipes, carved gothic fretwork and moulded cornice. Designed by Samuel Green and dated 1788. The chamber organ was initially installed in another room, probably the Drawing Room as George Steuart's design for that room included an organ case. Samuel Green built a large number of organs for cathedrals, and for churches in London and the country, which were renowned for the beauty of their tone.
