Summary
19th century rectangular black lacquered tin dispatch box with hinged lid with bail handle and hinged lock to front. Shield shaped brass maker's label and name plate fitted to lid with the inscriptions: HAWKES and CO 14 PICCADILLY LONDON and Lord Berwick Shropshire Imp.Yeo.
Provenance
Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
