Summary
A stained wood plate box, English, mid-20th century, one of a group of four, of varying sizes and dimensions. With a hinged lid enclosing an interior with an insert lined with pink cotton and with divisions forming spaces for six pieces of plate. The insert with brown leather handles. Fitted with a metal catch and a brass label frame to the front.
Provenance
Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and partial contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) and transferred to the National Trust on 15th May 1953.
