Summary
A mahogany travelling desk, English, late 18th century. Fitted to the interior with divisions forming pigeonholes and with short and long drawers with brass ring handles with circular brass backplates. The writing surface lined with green baize and folding twice, up and over, and secured with a lock. With a brass carry handle at either end. Fitted also with a glass inkwell and shot pot. The brass escutcheon engraved with flowers and foliage.

Attingham collection; bequeathed with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) and transferred to the National Trust on 15th May 1953.
