Summary
One of a pair of mahogany and cane bergère chairs, English, circa 1805, in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster. With a cane seat, back and sides. The toprail with integral arms moulded and on beaded curving arm supports. The seat with a cushion covered in tan suede and above sunken and beaded seat rails. The slender turned, tapering and reeded front legs headed by 'tablet'-beaded blocks. The rear legs of tapering rectangular-section and outswept. Fitted with brass caps and castors.
