Summary
A mahogany cellaret or wine cooler, English, circa 1780. Of octagonal form, and with a hinged top with moulded edge enclosing an interior fitted with a lead-liner. The lid bound with a band of brass; the body bound with two. With a base moulding and four tapering square-section legs terminating in moulded square feet.
Provenance
Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and partial contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) and transferred to the National Trust on 15th May 1953.
