Summary
A pair of marble-topped kingwood and tulipwood encoignures, or corner cabinets, French, circa 1760, by Pierre Wattelin (b. 1719), maître in 1757, of la rue Traversière in Paris. Topped by a pair of marble slabs, Belgian. The cabinets NT 608142.1.1 and 608142.2.1. The marble tops 608142.1.2 and 608142.2.2.
Provenance
Attingham collection and the property of Lady Berwick. Listed in the Inventory taken at Attingham Park circa 1953 Inventory in the Picture Gallery (p. 23). Bequeathed to the National Trust by Edith Teresa Hulton, Lady Berwick (1890 - 1972).
