Summary
Gouache on paper, Seven Designs for a Picturesque Village: Design for a Row of Cottages, a Gothic Bay at one end by John Nash (Cardigan 1752 – East Cowes 1835), circa 1798. A design for rebuilding of the village of Atcham. A row of four cottages each with thatched roof and porch, set beside cart track. The end cottage has a gothic bay, and can still be identified at entrance to Attingham. Glazed in ebonised frame, with giltwood slip.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
