Summary

Large circular drum water purifier in beige glazed earthenware, inner detachable carbon purifier with early plastic sealing knob, brass outlet tap at base. Separate detachable lid. Manufactured by the Silicated Carbon Filter Company of Battersea between 1870 and 1930.

Provenance

Purchased for the restoration of the Victorian Kitchen at Attingham Park by Kevin Jones, furniture conservator, at Newark circa 1998/99.
