Summary
Pearlware Devonia shaped comport having an oval bowl with scalloped rim, on high foot and transfer printed in underglaze blue with 'Buddleia' pattern. Chinoiserie willow style scene to centre field, butterfly, diaper, floral and scroll outer border. Possibly manufactured by Josiah Spode between 1795 and 1805.
