Summary
A woman's mantua-style open robe in pink silk taffeta. The pink robe is decorated with matching gathered and pleated robings on the front facings and is otherwise undecorated. The bodice and half-length sleeves are fully lined in linen and the skirt is also partially lined in wool around the lower hem. The remainder of the skirt lining has been removed historically. The bodice has two original pink silk gathering ribbons on the inner face along with two self-covered buttons centre back on the outer face at waist level, used to arrange the skirt mantua-style.The robe was once a much more vibrant shade of pink and is extremely faded.
