Summary
A man's uniform greatcoat made from black wool. The stand collar is decorated with applique flaming cannonballs, a symbol of the Royal Artillery, with shoulder cords decorated with the insignia of office. The coat fastens centre front with twelve crested buttons, with matching buttons on the cuffs and back vent. It is fully lined in black silk twill. A maker's label attached to an inner seam reads, "Made by Hawkes and Co, Piccadilly. H. A. Boyd Esq".
