Summary
A woman's skirt, part of a dress, made from vertical panels of black moire silk and silk satin. The skirt, which has been altered historically, is decorated with jet beading mounted on silk net from waist to hem where the skirt fastens and along the hem in two bands. The hem is further trimmed on the inside edge with a double layer of pleated black cotton gauze edged with black cotton lace. The skirt is fully lined in black silk taffeta and fastens with two hooks & eyes on the waistband proper left side front, intact. There is also an integral pocket on the waistband made from black glazed cotton.
