Summary
A woman's day dress made from brown silk taffeta with a grosgrain silk and silk satin brown stripe. The long-sleeved dress is decorated on the sleeve-heads and bodice from shoulder to waist with a brown silk fringe, with further decoration on the collar and cuffs of a brown silk braid with a short fringe. The bodice has decorative buttons for fastening centre front, made from gold-coloured metal and black glass, and with three further hooks and eyes on the waist, intact. The bodice is fully lined in beige cotton with seven boning strips, the sleeves are fully lined in cream cotton and faced with matching brown striped silk. The waistband is lined with cream cotton twill, and the skirt is fully lined in dark grey stiffened cotton gauze with a wool braid hem binding in brown.
