Summary
A woman's evening bodice, made from cream silk satin. The bodice is extensively decorated, with pleated silk net overlaid with silk organdie on the neckline and capped sleeves, cotton lace trim on both the neckline and cuffs and cream silk satin bows and artificial flowers made from foil and feathers on the shoulders and bodice centre front. Internally, the bodice is fully lined in white glazed cotton, with an integral cotton tape waist tie, seven boning strips, two hooks and eyes and lacing centre back, original lace missing. A handwritten marking on the inner waist tie in black ink reads, "Miss Arbuthnot", the donor.
