Summary
A woman's presentation bodice, part of a dress, made from the remaining buff-coloured glazed cotton lining as the original top layer of cream silk satin has been removed historically. The sleeveless bodice has original cream silk satin trim under the armholes, with a layer of cream Carrickmacross lace draped across the bodice from shoulder to waist level. It has a band of pearl and diamante trim around the neckline front and back, with two further pearl motifs centre back attached to a layer of cream silk chiffon, one on top of the lace shawl collar, the other underneath. There are five boning strips, nine hooks & eyes for fastening centre front left and an integral waist tie made from cream cotton herringbone tape.
