Summary
A woman's bodice made from vibrant amber silk. The bodice has very large puffed sleeves which were popular during the period 1890-1900, and end at the elbow with an elasticated cuff. It is decorated with a white cotton lace frill and amber silk frill around the neckline, with pleating on the bodice both centre front and centre back, on the sleeveheads and is otherwise undecorated. Internally, the bodice is fully lined in white calico, with thirteen brass hook and eye fastenings centre front and a cotton tape waist tie, all intact. A handwritten note written on an inner seam reads, "C.D.Parkinson-Cumine".
