Summary
A woman's wedding gown made from silver grey rayon satin. The gown has a round neck which is trimmed with claw-set diamante, with a matching slim panel of diamante on the otherwise open sleeve. It has a matching diamante trimmed panel on the bodice centre back from neck to waist, with a bow on the neck centre back. The gown has an integral long waist tie, with a gored and flared hem which has a short train. The bodice is fully lined in silver grey rayon crepe, the skirt is unlined, and the dress fastens centre back on the neck with three hooks and eyes, intact. A handwritten note associated with the dress reads, "Silver wedding dress worn at Grotes (?) Lodge, Blackheath, London SE on July 17th 1934. Later at Viceroy House, New Delhi, India, with pink feather fan. Shoes and long white gloves".
