Summary
A woman's jacket, part of a suit, made from black moire silk taffeta. The jacket is extensively trimmed, with two layers of black silk chiffon trimmed with black velvet ribbon and an upper layer of black cotton lace on the yoke, with matching black cotton lace on the front facings. The wide, full-length sleeves are trimmed with bands of black silk velvet ribbon and with an inner sleeve made from black silk chiffon with a white silk chiffon gathered cuff. There are seventeen decorative carved jet buttons for fastening centre front, one missing. Internally, the jacket is fully lined in black silk satin, with 13 boning strips and an internal waist tie made from silk satin twill. Handwritten on the inner collar of the jacket the marking, "Lenox-Conyngham", the donor. To go with 602587, matching skirt.
