Summary
A child's coat for a girl or boy, made from white cotton pique. The long-sleeved coat is trimmed on the cuffs with feather stitch embroidery and embroidered cotton lace, with a wide shawl collar similarly trimmed and with a deep cotton lace edging. The bodice is tucked, otherwise plain, and the lower skirt has a line of feather stitch and a deep cotton lace hem frill, lined with cotton lawn. The coat is unlined and fastens centre front with seven buttons, all removed historically.
