Summary
A woman's bodice made from black silk satin. The bodice is extensively decorated with jet beading in a floral pattern on the stand collar, front facings and the cuffs, with pleated black cotton lace trim on the inner collar and the cuff ends. It is fully lined in green and olive striped cotton, with twelve boning strips and an integral cotton/horsehair waist tie that fastens with two hooks & eyes, intact. The bodice fastens centre front with twenty four decorative metal buttons centre front, intact. A cotton tape label attached to the bodice lining centre back reads, "Ferguson", the donor.
