Summary
A woman's bodice, part of a dress, made from cream silk taffeta. The bodice is decorated around the neckline, yoke and cuffs with pinked and ruched cream silk taffeta, trimmed with black silk velvet bows. The neckline, cuffs and the cream silk net inner half-sleeves are further trimmed with cream cotton lace in a floral motif, with black velvet ribbon insertion on the neckline. The sleeve heads and bodice hem are finished with cream silk piping, with black velvet binding on the internal hem. Internally, the bodice is fully lined in cream glazed cotton, with eight boning strips and four self-covered buttons centre front for fastening, intact. The cream cotton twill internal waist tie has two hooks & eyes for fastening, intact, with a maker's label sewn onto the inner waist tape which reads, "J Lindsay & Co. Belfast".
