Son of Richard Phelips of Charlborough and Emeline...married (1534) Elizabeth Smythe of Bristol.1533. Portrait of a middle-aged man, half-length, turned slightly to the left, gazing at spectator, short dark brown hair, pale brown drooped moustache and pointed beard, pale complexion, cart-wheel ruff, black silk tunic with black buttons. Dark background.
