Summary
Sampler, dated 1659 Hester Sisson. Linen embroidered with coloured silks and linen thread using double-running stitches, eyelet, satin, cross, long-armed cross, rococo, and detached buttonhole stitches with laid and couched work, cut and drawn work and buttonholed bars. Band sampler with coloured and whitework border patterns. Alphabets and inscription 'Hester Sisson is my name and with my needle I wrought the same.
