Summary
A boarded oak press or aumbry on stand, English, part early 16th century, reconstructed. In two sections, the upper with a single door carved with a tracery panel and flanked by stiles carved with stylised flower motifs, the stand with an arcaded front and quatrefoil flower head carvings to the upper corners. Probably constructed in the second half of the 19th century from earlier church furniture.

Bequest to the National Trust of tapestries, pictures, furniture and objects d'art from Sir Malcolm Stewart in 1960.
