Summary
A joined oak bench or form, English, late 17th century. One of two, each with a plank top and turned baluster legs joined by stretchers, the top probably associated.
Full description
These benches are thought to have been made by the same craftsman as a 'refectory' type table in the Treasurer's House collection (NT 592838) dated 1686, This is unlikely, as stylistically, they are quite different and the table has been adapted and altered.
Provenance
Given by Frank Green (1861-1954) along with house, garden and contents to the National Trust in 1930.
