Summary
A black lacquer and brass mounted cabinet on a painted stand, the cabinet Japanese export, late 17th century, the stand English, late 19th century. The cabinet, originally fitted with an arrangement of drawers (now missing) with a pair of doors decorated overall with cranes in landscape settings, with brass hinges and mounts and carrying handles to the sides, the stand ebonised and decorated with painted floral designs on square section chamfered legs with pierced corner brackets or spandrels.

Given by Frank Green (1861-1954) along with house, garden and contents to the National Trust in 1930.
