Summary
Baluster form blue and white vase with carved and pierced wooden cover. Painted in underglaze blue with a Ming official on a horse with attendants, porcelain, Kangxi period (1662-1722), China, c. 1710-20. Originally a much taller vase, of a shape known as "Yenyen", confirmed by an unglazed mouth rim, replacement wood cover.

Part of Gale bequest to National Trust, allocated to Treasurer's House for display in 1987.
