Summary
Oriental porcelain vase with bulbous body and domed covers with Dog of Fo finials. A dark under-glaze blude ground is decorated with scrolls and flowers in white, red and gold. On the body three reserves outlined in white and containing Dog of Fo decoration. On the shoulder of the vase three reserves outlined in white containing birds and foliage. Cover has three reserves similar to those on the shoulder. Foot rim has gilt scrolling on a white ground. Imari porcelain. (VB). Arita, Japan, c. 1700-20.
Provenance
Presumed given by Frank Green (1861-1954) to the National Trust in 1933/4. Frank Green recorded as giving unspecified items during 1933 and 1934 in the TH Minute book.
