Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on card, Sir William Blackett 1st Bt. (d.1680) by Peter Cross (c.1645 - London 1724). c.1670-1679. Oval. Head and shoulders portrait of a man, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing a blue coat fastened by a brooch at the shoulder, broad lace cravat. Dark eyes, long black wig, pal complexion, aged about 50. Plain dark background, lit from the left. Sir William Blackett, father of the builder of Wallington.
