Full description
Around 1860 James Shoolbred began manufacturing and selling furniture to their own designs, often in the Aesthetic taste. They gained a reputation for high quality furniture and such was their success that by the 1880s Shoolbred had opened the City’s first large department store on Tottenham Court Road, London. In the mid 1880s Schoolbred was granted a Royal Warrant. They ceased trading in 1931.
