Summary
A part creamware dinner service, painted with the Trevelyan crest in brown (two mailed fists) and made for the Rev. George Trevelyan and given to him as a wedding present in 1795 by his friend Josiah Wedgwood. With various impress marks. This is one of two oblong dishes with rounded corners. Patricia Ferguson of the Gardiner Ceramic Museum, Toronto, describes the set as being Wedgwood Queensware, with the Trevelyan coat of two arms elbowed in armour clasping a globe, broad and fine line in brown enamel.
