Summary

Oil painting on canvas, An Oriental Woman: Fatima by Mary Cowie, Mrs Charles Nichols (1837-1928), after John Frederick Lewis, RA (London 1805 – Walton-on-Thames 1876). A three-quarter-length figure, seen from behind, in the act of drawing back a portière and unlatching a door. Painted by the mother of Ada, Lady MacGeough Bond (1866-1955).
