Summary
White, red and green marble sculpture, on round socle, Young Marcus Aurelius (121-180). A white marble portrait bust of Young Marcus Aurelius with drapery made up of red and green marble, on round socle, on marble plinth. The group of four probably acquired in 1740s. 18th century version of antique bust, probably that in Capitoline Museum, Rome. F.M. Piper's drawing of 1779 shows the bust in a round niche in the Venetian Seat (demolished in the 1790s), Woodbridge p.16.
