Almost every window at Packwood House has a panel of early stained glass. There are a number of unusual ones such as this which dates from the early 17th century and there are not many examples known in the world which show ships.
Summary
Rectangular, stained glass window panel, featuring sailing ships, mainly in monochrome with panel blue enamel on sea in north window of long gallery. Made up to an oval shape with the addition of late 18th/early 19th century cartouche. One of three early 17th century stained glass panels, this panel being rare.
