Summary
Sculpture, metal, The Medici Lion after Flaminio Vacca (1538-1600). Colour painted metal roaring lion with front left paw on ball, beige with black and pink details. Handwritten sticker, inscribed '75/- '. The original lion was first recorded by Flaminio Vacca in 1594, the same year Vacca carved its companion.
Provenance
An item from the Pamela Ward Collection, left to the National Trust in Miss Ward's will in 1994.
