Summary
Print, aquatint, Tyloge Bridge, Hafod Estate, Cardiganshire (after John (Warwick) Smith) by Joseph Constantine Stadler (b.Germany - fl. London 1780-1812). One of fifteen aquatint engravings by J.C.Stadler from watercolours of Hafod House and Hafod Estate by John 'Warwick' Smith, 1792. Illustrations to Sir James Edward Smith's 'A Tour to Hafod', 1810. The set came from the collection of a late owner of Hafod, where they hung on the staircase until his death in 1937. Including: The Parsons Bridge, Tyloge Bridge, River above the first bridge, Pyran's cascade entire, view in Cwm Rhydol, Cavern cascade, lower part of great fall Tynnach, Fall of the Rhydol, view in the Cwm Rhydol, meadow below flower garden, Hafod house, upper part of Pyran cascade, cascade above mossy seat, grand fall of Tynach, bed of the Rhydol.
