Pastel on paper, Herbert Croft (1603-1691) Bishop of Hereford, in the manner of William Faithorne the elder (London c.1616 – London 1691). Herbert Croft was the father of the 1st Bart., one of eleven pastel drawing portraits of three generations of the Croft family in the manner of William Faithorne and commissioned c. 1690s. In contemporary frames and glazed. From the estate of Sir James Croft, Bt. Formerly in the possession of the Moseley family.

From the estate of Sir James Croft, 11th Bt; formerly in the possession of the Moseley family; loaned to The National Trust by Michael Henry Glendower Page Croft, 2nd Baron (1916-1997) circa 1960; accepted by HM Government in Lieu of Inheritance Tax from the estate of Michael Henry Glendower Page Croft and allocated to The National Trust for display at Croft Castle in 2004.
