Summary
A metal doorstop, heavy black metal base in a half oval shape. Detailed cast ormolu is screwed onto the base, this features the winged boar in a crown which appears on the Lucy crest. Two intertwined branches of feathers and fish from the back of the boar form the handle. One of a pair (533193.1-2).
Provenance
Presented to the National Trust by Sir Montgomerie Fairfax-Lucy (1896 – 1965), two years after the death of his father, Sir Henry Ramsay-Fairfax, 3rd Bt (1870 – 1944), with Charlecote Park and its chief contents, in 1946.
