Summary
A high-back chair, Dutch, circa 1720. Carved, in walnut veneer of burr walnut and marquetry of fruitwood, the serpentine back is centred by a shaped splat decorated with birds and flowers and a vase. This is inlaid with ivory flowers and mother-of-pearl flowers. The serpentine seat is upholstered in red silk damask. The chair has cabriole legs with carved knees and ball and claw feet.
