Summary
Large elaborate overmantel surrounding a portrait of the Sultan of Surat (530882). Cascades and swags of foliage and flowers at the top and meander frieze at the base. In the middle of a broken pediment, a lyre with crossed pipes, supporting a mask of (possibly) Apollo in a sunburst motif. Egg and cup moulding below the pediment, and between the painting and the moulding, a small head in relief surrounded by foliage.
