Summary
A carved softwood bed-surround in the style of Gibbons, decorated with emblems of Fruits of the Earth, headed by four putti and a basket surrounded by fruit, flowers, fish and dead game. C.1700. Hung with yellow wool curtains (same as the headboard, footboard and Bathroom dressing table cover).
Provenance
Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
