Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The Mill Pool, Anglesey Abbey Garden: Winter 1949 by Edward Brian Seago (Norwich 1910 – London 1974). A row of Lombardy poplars on the bank of the Lode Mill Pool or Pond, Anglesey Abbey Gardens. The Lode Mill was bought by Lord Fairhaven in 1934. The Mill and its adjoining cement factory were in poor repair so much of the site was cleared and the mill restored. It is now, an important picturesque feature in the garden at Anglesey, as well as being in remarkably good working condition. Beyond the pool rises a row of Lombardy poplars planted to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of King George V in 1935.
