Summary
Altar frontal. Italian, perhaps Neapolitan, early C18. Silk. Ivory ground worked in silver threads depicting St Anthony. Abbott in cave in wilderness, with another monk lowering basket. Applied with gold and silver thread with urns, flowers, fountains, angels, fruit, birds and animals, foliage border with butterflies and insects, with gold thread fringe. Gilt framed, glazed.

Bequeathed to the National Trust by Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966) with the house and the rest of the contents.
